I’ve been a huge fan of the NES ever since I played Kung-Fu for the first time at the Ann & Hope in my neighboring town. After high school, I started collecting cartridges and I haven’t stopped since. Today I have roughly 700 of them. Ironically the remaining 130 or so I need are worth more than what I already own and since I don’t want to remortgage my house, collecting has slowed down in recent years.

The NES has always been a big part of my life. For instance, this will be the 11th year my family and I host a NES marathon for charity through Extra Life supporting Boston Children’s Hospital.

It has also been a big source of inspiration for my art…

…and while it may not necessarily by on the NES, Mario Paint is a major reason why I chose animation as a profession. It was the first time I was able to get visual feedback on animation concepts outside of a flipbook. These are the animations I captured on VHS back in the very early 90s.
Lastly, I tried my hand at game reviewing. I enjoyed the process very much and I really liked the outcome, but in the end I couldn’t warrant continuing. I just didn’t have the time.
